This paper addresses the key role of Social Software based tools and services for open educational practices and resources. The problem considered in this paper deals with determining daily routes for a traveling salesperson who provides customers in Upper Austria with product range information of a large, global food wholesaler.
Each customer has to be visited at least once a year, with some customers requiring up to 1 visit per month. Further, some customers may not be visited each day of the week. Our decision support system uses a commercial GIS software to extract customer data for input into the optimization procedure and to visualize the results obtained by the algorithm. The optimization approach is based on the Variable Neighborhood Search algorithm which assigns customers to days and determines routes for the salesperson for each day with the primary objective to minimize the total travel time of the salesperson.
Another objective studied is to minimize the number of days needed by the salesperson to visit all customers in a given month. Finally, we enrich the objective function by considering periodicity requirements for customer visits. Specifically, we penalize irregular schedules, where the time between two successive customer visits varies. We propose a new parallelization strategy which is based on a cooperation of multiple ant colonies and which combines fine-grained with coarse-grained parallelism.
This paper introduces conceptual and implementation approaches for an integrated, intermodal traveller information system in the Vienna region. Studies forecast high potentials of travellers willing to use alternative means of transport if having travel time advantages. Furthermore it is expected, that intermodal traveller information can contribute to the increase of public transport use and road network efficiency.
A model for context-based traveller information support is the basis for the conceptual design of the integrated, intermodal traveller information system developed in the Austrian research project Vienna-SPIRIT. Moreover, a pilot traveller information system was implemented and tested in this project. The focus was on the integration of existing route planning and information services in one system providing integrated, context-based and intermodal traveller information support.
The user can access this intermodal travel information from car navigation systems as well as from mobile devices such as handhelds and smart phones. The paper proposes meta-data models for information about public repositories of measurement and monitoring data and tools.
The meta-data model consists of a set of attributes, which describe the features of the actual data of interest. The discussed meta-data models constitute a base for the advanced meta-repository of measurement tools and data, which was developed by the IST project MOME Monitoring and Measurement Cluster. MOME is coordinating several European projects working on different issues related with traffic measurement and monitoring in IP-based networks.
The MOME meta-repository is a platform for exchange of information between researchers working with the measurement data and tools. Exemplary usage scenarios described in this paper demonstrate the capabilities of the implemented MOME meta-repository. The collected information includes the detailed description of an assumed measurement scenario, as well as selected statistical parameters obtained by data analysis methods. The MOME repository aims at providing assistance to the research community in finding and retrieving raw measurement data, which is most appropriate from the point of view of different research objectives.
It extends the MOME Database with capabilities for automatic statistical analysis of submitted measurement data. The included exemplary results of analysis performed on packet traces captured in a measurement site associated with MOME illustrate that the MOME Database provides the researchers with useful information about available measurement data.

We conclude the paper with some suggestions for our further research. This thesis presents a disquisition on dynamic anomaly detection in IP-networks. The first part contains a treatment of a selection of representative approaches in the research field of anomaly detection and provides a summary of the mathematical basics.
In the second part of the work, we introduce a new, two-step approach towards anomaly detection, consisting of statistical analysis and machine learning. All concepts are treated step by step on a likewise theoretical and practical basis. Resting upon this new approach, we show encouraging anomaly detection results with respect to a popular intrusion detection data set.

This thesis deals with a new application of Auto-ID in tourism. Using mobile devices with an integrated radio frequency identification RFID reader, objects of interest, such as sights or buildings, that have been equipped with an RFID transponder can be identified. In this paper we demonstrate how it can be implemented in a geoinformation trade situation.
We set up a business game model where two producers of geoinformation produce and sell their products. The producers are rational in the sense that they are trying to maximize their profits, and they can set either a high or a low price for their geoinformation products. We focus on the implementation of different pricing strategies and show the resulting payoffs in the form of the profits gained by the geoinformation producers.
According to our analysis, setting a low price is a strictly dominant strategy. A dominant strategy is the best choice for a player for every possible choice of the other player. We conclude the paper with a discussion of the analysis results and suggestions for further research. Increasing the share of multimodal journeys will be necessary for society to guarantee a high level of mobility given current growth rates. However, while car drivers are already assisted by advanced guidance and navigation facilities, continuous on-trip assistance for multimodal travelers is still in its infancies.

Thus, our goal is to develop a palm-based personal travel companion for multimodal travelers. Business models on the basis of digital content require sophisticated descriptions of that content, as well as service-oriented carrier architectures that allow to negotiate and enforce contract and license schemes in heterogeneous digital application environments.
In particular, we discuss how this structure supports business requirements within the context of paid content. Interactions between agents are embedded into digital infrastructures that are implemented on an advanced knowledge content carrier architecture KCCA that communicates via a dedicated protocol KCTP. We show how this architecture allows to integrate existing digital repositories so that the content can be made available to a semantically rich digital environment.
